LOCAL BUSINESS ANNOUNCED AS FINALIST IS THE INAUGURAL 2023 AUSTRALIAN TRADES SMALL BUSINESS CHAMPION AWARDS
From thousands of entrants, Picton local business owner Steven & Megan Hoffman has been named as a finalist in the first Australian Trades Small Business awards – a prestigious and comprehensive program that celebrates the outstanding service provided by hard working tradepeople from across the nation.
Laudaed for excellence in in the trade services category of the awards, Geotechnical Laboratory Services WA is now in the running to take a top gong at the 2023 Australian Trades Small Businues Awards National Presentation Gala Event, to be held on Friday 22nd September 2023.
With a mounting reputation as the ‘Logies’ of small business, the red carpet event will be held at the newly built Western Sydney Conference Centre at Penrith NSW.
From electricians to signmakers, plumbers and landscapers, electrcians, carpenters and more, the 2023 program features more than 45 industry categories and five individual award categories, Apprentice Champion, Champion Tradie, Small Business Champion Trades Entreprenur and Australian Small Business Champion Trade Leader.
“The importance of the trades sector in this country has never been more important, esspecially during the last few years with a challenging economic climate and increasing uncertainty in the building and contstruction sector” says Steve Loe, Awards Founder and Managing Director of Precedent Productions, which coordinates the Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards.
“Since its inception more than 40 Years ago, Precedent Productions continues to present a multitude of state and national award programs, giving us oversight of the countrys best performing business operators”.
We simply could not look past the spiking number of trades businesses participating in our programs, so it was fitting to have a stand alone awards program that showcases and honours their achievmetns and services to thier communities.

“When the Champion Judges evaluate entries, they consider all aspects of a business: Its strategies, inovative initiatuives, customer service, vision, growth, enviroment and community support- to name a few of the judging criteria.
“To put it plainly, my team and I are excited to be in a position to highlight the outstanding trades bisinesses across the nationand inspire the next generation of Ausytalian Champion Tradies” added Mr Loe.

CERT IV LABORATORY TECHNIQUES
GLSWA would like to congratulate Steven Bates on his recently completed Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques. He has always shown great commitment to our company by heading up annex facilities in the Goldfields and Pilbara regions, as well as sharing his knowledge with our trainee technicians at our Base Facilities in both Bunbury and Kalgoorlie. This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of laboratory techniques to conduct tests and sampling in a variety of industry sectors. Thanks to Lab Tech Training (LTT) for their support of Steven with attaining his qualification,enhance his laboratory skills and gain additional knowledge to strive for continuous improvement and work towards Geotechnical Laboratory Services WA mission, vision and values.
CHARMAINE WALLRODT & TENAE ODINE

GLSWA would like to congratulate both Charmaine Wallrodt and Tenae O’Dine on each of them recently completing their Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques. This Mother and Daughter duo have always shown great commitment and to our company and continue to contribute by assisting our clients to get their results in the best time possible. Charmaine has recently been assigned a supervisory role and assists all our technicians at our Base Facility in Bunbury to perform at their best and achieve their KPI’s. This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of laboratory techniques to conduct tests and sampling in a variety of industry sectors. Thanks to Lab Tech Training (LTT) for their support of Charmaine and Tenae with attaining their qualifications merely 20 days apart, enhance their laboratory skills and gain additional knowledge to strive for continuous improvement and work towards Geotechnical Laboratory Services WA mission, vision and values.
AMANDA PEDERSEN
QUALITY MANAGMENT CERTIFICATION (NATA)
Recently Amanda Pedersen unlocked her potential for growth by completing a Quality Management Certification with the National Association of Testing Authorities in Australia (NATA). This certification enhanced her laboratory quality management skills and assisted in gaining additional knowledge to drive continuous improvement and achieve excellence within Geotechnical Laboratory Services WA. This was Amanda’s first step towards a successful career in quality management and beyond. With this certification, Amanda now has the expertise to ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability in GLSWA’s laboratory work.
